    WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Canoe/Kayak is the LAST summer Olympic sport not in compliance with the IOC's edict (or "stong recommendation") on gender equity. In January 2007 and again in March 2009, ICF officials conveyed to all Federations their commitment to compliance with the recocommendation of the IOC.
