Mountain Challenge is an outdoor adventure program at Maryville College in Maryville,Tennessee. The "Mountain Challenge Girls" Program targets 7th grade girls in public schools who do not participate in organized sports and first year college women at Maryville College who do not participate in organized sports. MC provides 7-10 outdoor adventure trips for these girls and women over the course of the academic year aimed at supporting the self-perception that they are, indeed, Athletes! Thank you to Mariah Burton-Nelson for the generous donation of books (" We Are All Athletes") to the inaugural MC Girls Program starting in the Fall 2008.
