| RESULTS - 2006 Pan American Championships - Mexico City September 15-17 |
|
The 2006 Pan American Championships were the 5th Pan Ams to include women's canoe as exhibition events and had the most representation from Pan American countries to date. The Canadian women once again showed the depth and breadth of their women's canoe program by taking Gold in all six women's canoe events, however, the U.S. had its strongest finishes to date, particularly in the singles (C1) events. | WHAT IS SPRINT CANOE? |
|
|
Sprint/Flatwater canoe (also known as "high-kneel") is currently an Olympic event for men, but not for women.
It is the companion sport to sprint kayak (an Olympic event for BOTH men and women). As one of the oldest Olympic Sports, it is a classic test and combination of speed, power, endurance and balance.
